In a nutshell:
- Push gently, briefly, and rarely (daily)
- Pull intensely, promptly, and habitually (any time)
- Be aware that time spent pushing (even passively, and even with your clothes on) causes hemorrhoids. Affirmation: "My hemorrhoids are disappearing as I redirect unnecessary pressure away from that area."
- Be aware that pulling is important, that hemorrhoid avoidance requires good muscle tone in that area, and that things like squatting, sucking in your gut, doing pulling exercises, and adjusting your clothes are as important as reducing your bathroom time.
- Cure constipation by eating more unrefined and whole plant food like fruits, vegetables, beans, and whole grains and less white rice, white flour, sugar, and oil.
- Cure constipation by drinking more plain water.
- Cure acute (immediate and urgent) constipation by doing a Master Cleanse water flush (see my grandpa's story).
- Cure acute constipation by massaging or kneading your colon (from the front, perhaps while lying down) and anus (from the back while squatting or bending) from the outside with your hands.
- Count the number of seconds you push on the toilet. "My hemorrhoids are disappearing as I reduce my time spent pushing to well under 1 minute daily. I am healing my hemorrhoids by cleaning, pulling myself completely back together, and giving my bowels a rest after twelve seconds of pushing."
- Be careful about when and how you put off an urge to make a bowel movement. Be aware of whether an urge-holding habit is leaving you in a half-pushing posture for extended periods of time.
- Be aware of how well you are pulled back together after a bowel movement. Be especially aware after having held an urge for some time. When you return to your activities, be aware again.
- Experiment a few times with separating your urination and bowel movements into two events separated by total return to pressure-free condition.
- Consciously pull yourself back together after every bowel movement before wiping. Do not wipe until your anus is tightly closed with all internal intestinal tissue returned inside.
- If you are currently suffering a hemorrhoid, push it back inward gently before pulling yourself back together and wiping.
- Experiment with squatting above the toilet instead of resting on the toilet seat.
- Experiment with squat lifts after a bowel movement while pulling yourself back together.
- Be aware of whether the fit of your clothes allows you to keep pressure away from your bowels or encourages you to slouch pressure into your bowels.
- Adjust the height and size of your waist or belt to give you freedom to use your own muscle tone to suck in your gut all day long.
- Experiment with a few or 100 "pull inward" contraction exercise repetitions.
- Try lying down after a bowel movement while you finish pulling yourself together until all urge to push is gone.

Thank you so much for all this information and advice. I have been suffering on and off for about 5 years and am running out of ideas. I have used the pulling in and up mostly when I have pain from protruding hems, and will begin to do this daily, along with your other advice. I use coconut oil as a soothing lubricant when I push them back in and after using the toilet. Coconut oil is healing and does not sting at all. Getting off my feet and putting them up helps when I can do that. I am so glad I happened upon your site and appreciate that you are so willing to help all of us find some relief. Tom, I also meant to mention for other readers that I eat dried prunes from the grocery store which keeps things moving gently and naturally. One or two a day, at different meals, is sufficient for me. But it's good to start slow and work up because they can cause gas or diarrhea if you eat too many. And I take days off if necessary.
